My thoughts
I decided to purchase this foundation as I'd run out of my normal drugstore one which is Maybellines dream satin liquid foundation.
I hadn't heard much of the illamasqua brand prior to buying this but seeing other bloggers rating this highly I thought I'd try it out, even if it is quite pricey: RRP is 21.50 and I bought mine from Debenhams as they do free delivery :)
Design
I really like the bottle, its made of squeezy plastic and has a point tip which makes it easy to get a tiny bit of product out. Very easy to put in your bag on a night out or during the day with no worries of leaking, this is an advantage when compared to other foundations for example MAC studio fix fluid which is a glass bottle & you have to buy the pump.
Application
Well lets just to say you have to use a stippling brush! Luckily I'd read reviews online which suggested to do this, but had I not and just used my fingers it would have looked a cakey mess. This foundation needs a lot of time spent blending it in, but once you have put the effort in it really does look flawless!
Another point to note is that this will settle on any dryness on your skin to make sure you moisturise loads and exfoliate any dead skin from dry patches because this will just accentuate them!
Longevity
The one disadvantage I have found because of my oily skin, is that by about 4 or 5 hours after I've applied I will be shiny and it appears to have worn off slightly, but this may be a problem of mine rather than the foundation. I haven't tried using with a primer yet but may try and update when I do. The most important thing to remember when wearing this is that a little bit goes a long way! So although I said it was pricey earlier it will definitely last a good while.
Other Thoughts
Would I buy again? Yes I would as it is a perfect product if you wanted a slightly heavier look, beware if you want to look really sheer natural as you won't wearing this. Another thing to comment on is the smell! I really hate foundations which smell bad but this smells of vanilla icing so nice!
Me wearing the foundation (sorry about picture quality temporarily misplaced camera)
My next posts will be on Mac Mineralize Liquid Foundation and Mac Creme Cup lipstick
